ADRIFT (À DERIVA), by director Heitor Dhalia with Vincent Cassel and Camilla Belle – The festival opening night feature, earned a standing ovation at the Cannes Film Festival – Un Certain Regard in 2009 for its emotionally rich tale of a family spending summer vacation with her family in Búzios. Filipa a fourteen-year old girl experiences her rite of passage into adulthood while discovering love for the first time. A rite filled with anguish when she learns that her father, a famous author is betraying her mother with a foreign woman who lives in the small seaside town. But this secret is to be only the first in a series of others both enchanting and painful, which she discovers about her family and herself as well.

3rd LOS ANGELES BRAZILIAN FILM FESTIVAL – LABRFF 2010
Celebrates the 15th Anniversary of the New Brazilian Cinema
Los Angeles, California, March 13 – In its 3rd year, the Los Angeles Brazilian Film Festival – LABRFF 2010 celebrates the 15th Anniversary of the New Brazilian Cinema, with a selection of films that marked the period that became known worldwide as the best moments of national cinema, comparable only to the Cinema Novo. The LABRFF will take place April 27 to May 2, at the world capital of cinema, Los Angeles, and will feature more than 60 films including long and short films, documentaries, animation and video projects.
